"Bless us with discernment."
This is the prayer for wisdom to see clearly, to distinguish truth from lies, and to choose the path of life.
The Scripture That Promises This:
1 Kings 3:9: "Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil."
Hebrews 5:14: "But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil."
Philippians 1:9-10: "And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent."
A Prayer for Discernment:
"Lord,
Bless us with discernment—
the ability to see what others miss,
to hear what the Spirit is saying,
to know what is from You and what is from the enemy.
Give us discernment in our decisions—
to choose wisdom over impulse.
Discernment in our relationships—
to recognize what is healthy and what is harmful.
Discernment in our hearts—
to distinguish conviction from condemnation,
grace from license,
truth from deception.
Let us not be naive or easily misled.
Train our senses by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
And above all, give us the discernment to recognize Your voice,
for Your sheep know Your voice and follow You.
In Jesus' name,
Amen."
The Promise for You:
The Spirit of God dwells in you to lead you into all truth. Discernment is not a mystical gift for a select few—it is available to every believer who asks, who practices, who abides in the Word.
Bless us with discernment. He will give it. Ask, seek, knock—and the door of understanding will open.
