My Petition for Strength and Peace

I do not ask for endless ease, Or just a gentle,passing breeze. But for the strength to run the race, And know the comfort of Your grace.

Renew a right spirit in me, From anxious thoughts,set my mind free. For You have not given me fear, But power and love,ever near. (2 Timothy 1:7)

May I be sober, sound and clear, Anchored in hope,and not in fear. A mind transformed, not of this age, To turn from worry’s frantic page. (Romans 12:2)

For though the outer shell may fade, By time and toil and use waylaid, The inner self is renewed daily by Your hand, And on Your promises I stand. (2 Corinthians 4:16)

Guard my heart and guard my thoughts, With lessons Your own Son has taught. And let the peace of Christ, so deep, Rule in my heart,its vigil keep. (Colossians 3:15)

So bless this vessel, make it whole, In body,spirit, and in soul. That I may serve and love and give, And in Your strength,truly live.
