Worthy Is the King
A Reflection on Revelation 5:12, Psalm 145:1, and 1 Timothy 6:15
Worthy is the King—not with mortal, fading praise,
But with the anthem of the angels through eternal days.
The Lamb who was slain now sits upon the throne,
And every creature in heaven and earth will worship Him alone.
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” (Revelation 5:12)
Worthy in His lowliness—the manger and the cross,
The King who traded majesty for our shame and loss.
He did not cling to glory, but emptied Himself for us,
And for that sacrifice alone, He is worthy, glorious.
Worthy in His victory—the stone rolled away,
The risen Lord, the death‑defeated, the light of endless day.
He holds the keys of hell and death; He reigns at God’s right hand.
Every knee will bow, every tongue confess: He is the King who stands.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:17)
So let my life declare it: Worthy is the King!
Let every breath, every heartbeat, every offering I bring
Ascend as worship to the One who gave His life for me.
Worthy is the King—my Savior, Lord, and majesty.
I will exalt You, my God the King; I will praise Your name for ever and ever. (Psalm 145:1)
Amen.
