"Lord, be gracious to Your children."
This is the cry of every heart that knows we do not deserve His favor—but we desperately need it.
The Scripture That Answers:
Psalm 123:2-3: "Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master... so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us. Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us!"
Numbers 6:25: "The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you."
Psalm 86:15: "But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness."
A Prayer for Grace:
"Lord,
We are Your children—
not because we are worthy,
but because You have adopted us in Christ.
Be gracious to us.
Shine Your face upon us.
Let Your favor rest on our families,
our homes, our going out and our coming in.
We do not ask for what we deserve.
We ask for what You delight to give:
mercy, grace, and unfailing love.
Be gracious to Your children, Lord.
We look to You. We trust in You. We rest in Your kindness.
In Jesus' name,
Amen."
The Promise for You:
The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. He does not treat you as your sins deserve. He delights to be gracious to His children.
Lord, be gracious to Your children. He hears. He answers. His grace is already on its way.
