Jesus Christ my King.

 Jesus Christ, My King

A Reflection on John 18:37, Revelation 19:16, and 1 Timothy 1:17

Jesus Christ, my King—not a ruler crowned with gold,

But the Sovereign who left His glory, a story yet untold.

He wears no earthly scepter, no jeweled and fading throne,

Yet every power in heaven and earth bows before Him alone.

“You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.” (John 18:37)

My King—not distant, not a tyrant cold and high,

But the Shepherd who lays down His life, who hears His children cry.

He rules with love, He reigns with grace, His kingdom is not force,

But righteousness and peace and joy, a gentle, mighty course.

He entered Jerusalem on a donkey, meek and low,

Not with chariots and armies, but with the hearts of those who know

That His kingdom is not of this world; His weapons are not swords,

But the sword of the Spirit, the truth of His words.

On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written: King of kings and Lord of lords. (Revelation 19:16)

So I bow before this King—not in fear, but in awe,

For the King who wore a crown of thorns has overcome the law.

He is the King of mercy, the King of endless grace,

The King who welcomes rebels into His embrace.

Jesus Christ, my King—my heart, my life, my all.

I will serve Him, love Him, follow Him, whatever may befall.

He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the great I AM.

Jesus Christ, my King—the spotless, risen Lamb.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:17)

Amen.
