You are my Joy in the morning.

You Are My Joy in the Morning

A Reflection on Psalm 30:5 and Psalm 59:16

You are my joy in the morning—not a fleeting, fragile smile,

But the deep, abiding gladness that stays through every trial.

When I rise from sleep and open weary eyes,

Your mercies greet me fresh beneath the waking skies.

Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)

In the quiet before the dawn, when the world has yet to stir,

You are the song that rises, the whisper that I heard.

Not because my circumstances are perfectly aligned,

But because Your love has claimed me—body, spirit, mind.

You are my joy when the coffee brews and the day begins to race.

You are my joy in the ordinary, in the commonplace.

When the news is dark and the road ahead is long,

Your joy becomes my strength, my morning song.

But I will sing of Your strength, in the morning I will sing of Your love. (Psalm 59:16)

So I greet the sunrise not with dread, but with a praise,

For the joy of the Lord is my shield through all my days.

You are my joy in the morning—my first thought, my first breath.

In life, in death, my morning star that conquers every death.

Amen.
