River of Living water flow.

 River of Living Water Flow

A Reflection on John 7:38, Ezekiel 47:1-9, and Revelation 22:1

River of living water, flow—from the throne of God and the Lamb,

A crystal stream of grace, the great I AM.

Not a stagnant pool, not a narrow, shallow brook,

But a rushing, mighty current that flows through every nook

Of my being, of my days, of my deepest, hidden space.

Let it wash away the sin, the shame, the fear I face.

Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. (John 7:38)

Flow through the valleys where my hope has withered dry.

Quench the thirst that parches, lift my weary, fallen eye.

Flow through the mountains where I’ve climbed by my own strength,

And remind me that Your river carries me the length

Of every trail and every trial, every rock and every storm.

Let Your living water be my peace, my comfort, and my norm.

Where the river flows, life abounds—the trees of healing grow,

Their leaves for the healing of the nations, their fruit in season’s flow.

So I open wide the floodgates of my spirit, Lord, today.

Let the River of Living Water sweep the stone of death away.

He brought me back to the door of the temple, and behold, water was flowing from under the threshold... “Wherever the river flows, everything will live.” (Ezekiel 47:1, 9)

Let the river deepen as I wade in further still—

From ankle‑deep to knee, to waist, until my own will

Is swallowed in the flood, and I can no longer stand,

But swim in the fullness of Your love, carried by Your hand.

Flow, living water. Flow, O Holy Spirit, flow.

Let the river of Your presence in my life forever grow.

River of living water, flow—make me a channel deep,

Where the thirsty find refreshment and the broken learn to leap.

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. (Revelation 22:1)

Amen.
