Bath in his everlasting Love.

 Bathed in His Everlasting Love

A Reflection on Jeremiah 31:3, Ephesians 3:17-19, and Romans 5:5

Bathed in His everlasting love—not a sprinkle, not a touch,

But a deep, immersive soaking that I need so very much.

Let the waters of His mercy cover every part of me,

From the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, let me be lost at sea.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

This love is not a shallow pool where I can only wade.

It is an ocean without bottom, without shore, without a shade.

So I dive into the depths of grace, where fears dissolve and cease,

And find that I am held by everlasting love and peace.

Bathe me in forgiveness, wash away the guilt and shame.

Let the blood of Jesus cleanse me, and restore my rightful name.

Bathe me in acceptance, though I come with empty hands.

Let Your love affirm my worth, for in Your sight I stand.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power... to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. (Ephesians 3:17-18)

Not a fleeting feeling, but a bath that never ends.

A love that through the darkest valley this soul of mine attends.

When I rise from these still waters, I am dripping with Your grace.

Your everlasting love has left its fingerprints upon my face.

So I linger in this bath—not rushing, not afraid.

The love that holds the universe has all my debts paid.

Bathed in His everlasting love, I am clean, I am new.

There is nothing that can separate me from the love that is so true.

God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (Romans 5:5)

Amen.
