Make my dwelling a Holy Ground.

Make My Dwelling a Holy Ground

A Reflection on Exodus 3:5, Joshua 24:15, and Ephesians 2:19-22

Make my dwelling a holy ground—not a building made of stone,

But a place where Your presence is fully, deeply known.

Let every room and doorway echo with Your name,

And let this home become a place where heaven's glory finds its frame.

“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” (Exodus 3:5)

Sanctify this dwelling—let it be a house of prayer,

Where peace and love and mercy fill the very air.

Let the footsteps of my family tread softly on Your grace,

And let Your Spirit's gentle voice find here a dwelling place.

Make it holy ground—not by the walls or roof above,

But by the sacred presence of Your everlasting love.

Where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, the mundane meets divine,

And every step I take is a threshold made holy by Your design.

Bless the thresholds where we enter and where we depart.

Let the name of Jesus be the first word in every heart.

Bless the windows where we gaze upon the world outside—

Let us see it through Your eyes, with grace and truth as our guide.

Bless the kitchen, where we gather for daily bread and wine,

Let gratitude and fellowship around the table shine.

Bless the rooms of rest, where sleep and dreams are found,

Let Your angels guard the silence and Your peace in us abound.

As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)

Let this home be holy—not in perfect cleanliness,

But in the warmth of kindness, in the depth of faithfulness.

Where forgiveness is a habit, where laughter is a song,

And where the hurting find a shelter to belong.

Make my dwelling a holy ground—I dedicate it to You,

Every wall, every floor, every window, every door.

Come, Lord Jesus, be the center of our lives,

And let Your glory rise where my family thrives.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of His household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. (Ephesians 2:19-20)

Amen.
