Happy Father's Day
A Reflection on Earthly Fathers and Our Heavenly Father
Happy Father's Day—to the men who stand so strong,
Who guide, provide, protect, and love, when days are short or long.
To the fathers who have held us close, who taught us how to pray,
Who showed us by their faithful lives what it means to walk God's way.
“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” (Proverbs 20:7)
To the fathers who have given of their strength and of their heart,
Who labored through the silent years to play their vital part.
To those who lead with gentleness, with wisdom and with grace,
You bear the image of our God, who longs to see your face.
To the fathers who have stumbled, who have felt they've come up short,
Who have cried out in the silence, who have brought their pain to court
Of mercy—know that God is near, the Father of all grace,
He lifts the weary, holds the broken, and heals every trace.
“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.” (Psalm 103:13)
And to the Father in heaven—the perfect, steadfast One,
Who never leaves, who never fails, whose will is always done.
He is the Father of all fathers, the source of every good,
The One who loved us long before we ever understood.
On this Father's Day, we lift our hearts in praise:
For earthly fathers who have walked with us through all our days,
And for the Father above, whose love will never end,
Our Abba, our strong tower, our dearest, closest Friend.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1)
Happy Father's Day. May you be blessed,
With strength and peace and joy and rest.
And may you know the Father's love,
That great and steadfast love above.
Amen.
