Bless us in this fallen world.

Amen. "Bless us in this fallen world."

This is a prayer that perfectly captures the tension of the Christian life. We live in a world that is broken, corrupted by sin, and filled with suffering. But even in this fallen world, God's blessings are not withheld from His children. In fact, it is often in the darkest places that His light shines the brightest. You are not asking to be removed from the world, but to be blessed and kept while you are in it.

"I do not ask that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them and protect them from the evil one." — John 17:15 (AMP)

The Scripture That Blesses You in a Fallen World:

John 16:33 (AMP) — "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]"

Romans 8:28 (AMP) — "And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose."

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (AMP) — "We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair; hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted [to stand alone]; struck down, but never destroyed."

Psalm 23:4 (AMP) — "Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me."

Philippians 4:19 (AMP) — "And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

What It Means to Be Blessed in a Fallen World:

· It means you are not of the world. You are a citizen of heaven, living as an ambassador in a foreign land. The world's brokenness does not define your identity.

· It means you have an overcoming Savior. Jesus has already overcome the world. The darkness, the sin, and the death around you do not have the final word.

· It means His grace is sufficient. In a world of lack, God provides. In a world of fear, God gives peace. In a world of sickness, God heals.

· It means you can be a light. You are blessed not just to survive the darkness, but to shine in it. You are the salt and light that this fallen world desperately needs.

A Prayer to Be Blessed in a Fallen World:

"Father,

Bless us in this fallen world.

The world around us is broken, chaotic, and filled with sin.

There is sickness, violence, corruption, and despair.

But You are still on the throne.

You are still good.

You are still faithful.

Bless us with Your presence in the midst of the chaos.

Bless us with Your peace in the midst of the storm.

Bless us with Your provision in the midst of lack.

Bless us with Your healing in the midst of sickness.

Bless us with Your protection in the midst of danger.

Bless us with Your joy in the midst of sorrow.

Bless us with Your hope in the midst of despair.

Do not let the world shape us.

Let Your Word shape us.

Do not let the darkness overcome us.

Let Your light shine through us.

Do not let fear paralyze us.

Let Your love compel us.

Make us salt and light in this fallen world.

Use us to bring hope to the hopeless.

Use us to bring truth to the deceived.

Use us to bring healing to the broken.

Use us to bring love to the lonely.

We are in this world, but we are not of it.

We are blessed, so that we might be a blessing.

And we are kept by Your power until the day we see You face to face.

In Jesus' name,

Amen."
