God So Loves the World.

 God So Loves the World

A Reflection on John 3:16

God so loves the world—not a distant, passive care,

But an active, burning passion that refuses to despair.

He did not wait for us to clean ourselves or earn our worth;

He loved us in our brokenness, before our second birth.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son.” (John 3:16)

The world—not just the good, the righteous, or the kind,

But the rebel, the doubter, the lost, the blind.

The one who curses His name, the one who walks away,

The one who trades His glory for a handful of clay.

So loved—not a feeling warm and thin,

But a love that entered deep into the mess of sin.

A love that took on flesh, that walked where thorns are sown,

That wept at graves and faced the tempest on its own.

That He gave—not lent, not loaned, not shared for a span,

But gave His only Son, the perfect, blameless Lamb.

He gave Him to the manger, to the carpenter's bench,

To the wilderness, to the garden, to the cross, to the trench

Of death and darkness, to the grave's cold door—

That we might live forever, never lost, never poor.

He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

So wide is this love, so deep, so high,

It reaches the lowest sinner, the farthest lie.

It does not ask for beauty, for strength, or for fame.

It only asks for faith—a simple trust in His name.

Whoever believes—not the worthy, not the wise,

But the trembling, the failing, the weary, the despised.

No credential required, no payment to bring.

Just an open heart, just a whisper, just a quiet “I cling.”

Shall not perish—but have eternal life.

God so loves the world. Let the heavens be still.

Let every heart receive this truth: that love has climbed the hill

Of Calvary, and still climbs down to where you stand today.

God so loves the world. Believe it. Come what may.

Amen.
