Protect me from danger.

This is a fundamental and heartfelt prayer, a cry for safety and security in the care of our powerful and loving God. It is a prayer He hears and answers.

The Sure Defense

The world holds seen and unseen harm, A voice of trouble,a loud alarm. I cannot see around the bend, Or know what dangers may descend.

But I can know the One who sees, Who moves upon the troubled breeze. The One who never slumbers,sleeps, A vow for His beloved keeps.

Protect me from danger.

Guard my going out, my coming in, From hidden snare,from blatant sin. Be a shield about my way, By night and also by the day.

The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. (Psalm 121:7-8)

Protect my body, keep it safe, From any peril I may face. Protect my mind from fearful thought, The battles that are inward fought.

Protect my heart from lies and scorn, And keep my spirit newly born. Protect my steps from paths that stray, And lead me in Your perfect way.

I do not ask for no trial or test, But for Your presence through the rest. I do not ask to never know fear, But to know that You are ever near.

So be my fortress and my rock, My steady ground,my constant lock. My hiding place,my refuge strong, My victory,my hopeful song.

I place myself within Your hand, And in Your promise I will stand. You are my protector, now and always.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray.
