Amen. This is a cry for peace and deliverance in the midst of turmoil. Storms can be external circumstances or internal fears, but the prayer is the same: for the presence and power of the One who commands even the wind and the waves.
Here is a prayer and poem to anchor you in the storm.
---
The Calm in Our Chaos
The winds are high, the waves are tall, They threaten to overwhelm us all. The sky is dark, the hope seems dim, We lift our weary eyes to Him.
We cannot still this gale ourselves, Or save our sinking selves from shelves Of water crashing, deep and cold— A story that is old,yet newly told.
Help us overcome the storm in our lives.
Not by removing it outright, But by revealing Your great might Withinthe storm. Be our calm, Be our peace, our healing balm.
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. (Psalm 107:29-30)
Speak to the fears that rage inside, “Peace,be still,” and there abide. Remind us that the boat You’re in Will never let the waters win.
You are the Lord of every squall, You see the beginning and end of all. This tempest does not take You by surprise, It’s seen by Your all-knowing eyes.
So help us fix our gaze on You, And trust the work You’re going to do. Whether You calm the sea or hold us tight, You are our anchor in the night.
Give us the faith to truly see That we are safe, for You are we. Help usovercome by simply resting, In Your promise,ever-lasting.
Lead us through to the other side, Where in Your faithfulness we abide. Where we look back upon the roar, And love and trust You even more.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray,
Amen.
