Prayers before bedtimes

Amen. Resting in the Lord is an act of faith. It is saying, "I have done what I can for today. Now I trust You to watch over what I cannot." Sleep is a gift from God, and He gives it to His beloved.

“In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.” — Psalm 4:8 (AMP)

The Scripture for Bedtime:

Proverbs 3:24 (AMP) — “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.”

Psalm 121:3-4 (AMP) — “He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”

Psalm 91:1-2 (AMP) — “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust!’”

Psalm 127:2 (AMP) — “It is vain for you to rise early, to retire late, to eat the bread of anxious labors—for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.”

A Bedtime Prayer:

“Heavenly Father,

As I prepare to lie down, I come to You.

I release this day into Your hands—

the good, the bad, the unfinished, and the unknown.

I lay down my burdens at Your feet.

I cast all my cares upon You, because You care for me.

Forgive me for the ways I fell short today.

Thank You for Your grace that covers me.

Thank You for Your mercy that is new every morning.

I ask You to bless my sleep.

Quiet my mind.

Calm my heart.

Restore my body.

Refresh my spirit.

Protect me through the night.

Let Your angels encamp around me.

Let Your blood cover my home and my family.

Let no evil come near my dwelling.

Let no fear torment my thoughts.

I will not be afraid—

for You are with me.

I will not be anxious—

for You are in control.

I will not be troubled—

for You are my peace.

Into Your hands I commit my spirit.

I trust You with my tomorrow.

I rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I sleep in the arms of my Father.

Good night, Lord.

I am Yours.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.”

A Blessing for Your Night:

May the Lord bless your sleep and keep you through the night. May He make His face shine upon you and give you peace. May His angels watch over you. May you sleep deeply and wake refreshed, renewed, and full of His joy. And may you know, as you rest, that the One who neither slumbers nor sleeps is watching over you and everyone you love.

“Prayers before bedtime.”

He is with you.

He is guarding you.

He is holding you.

Sleep well—and rest in His love.

Amen.
