A Reflection on 3 John 1:2

Prosper and be in health—not only in the outer frame,

But as your soul prospers, let your body and heart proclaim

The wholeness that flows from a spirit deep and true,

A life that's rooted in the One who makes all things new.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2, AMP)

When your soul prospers, you will find

That worry loosens its grip, and peace fills your mind.

The riches of His grace become your daily bread,

And fear of lack or sickness slowly, surely, sheds.

Your soul prospers when you feed on His Word,

When you dwell in His presence, when His voice is heard.

When you love as He loved, forgive as He forgave,

When you serve without grumbling, when you trust and behave

In humility and gratitude, walking close to His side—

Then your soul will thrive, and in its health you will abide.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (1 Timothy 4:8)

Prosper—not always in the currency of gold,

But in the wealth of character that never grows old.

Be in health—not always free from pain or ache,

But with a vibrant spirit that the enemy cannot shake.

So I pray for you today: may your soul deeply thrive.

May the peace of Christ rule in your heart, keeping you alive.

And as your soul prospers, may your body follow suit—

Not by magic, but by the Spirit's absolute

Power that raised Christ from the grave now dwells in you.

Prosper and be in health—this is His word, so true.
