Lord of Hosts.

Here is a poem of awe and a collection of scriptures celebrating the Lord of Hosts—the Commander of heaven's armies, the Mighty God who fights for His people.

The Commander of the Skies

Lord of Hosts, the armies' King,

To You the heavenly creatures sing.

Ten thousand times ten thousand rise

To serve the Commander of the skies.

Lord of Hosts, the battle Lord,

Who wields the Spirit's mighty sword.

You fight for those who cannot fight,

You bring the dawn after the night.

Lord of Hosts, the nations' dread,

Before Your voice the proud have fled.

The chariots of Pharaoh sank,

Like stone they fell, on ocean's bank.

Lord of Hosts, my refuge strong,

To You alone do I belong.

When enemies surround my way,

You are my shield, my strength, my stay.

Lord of Hosts, the angel's Lord,

Whose whisper stills the angry horde.

A single word, and armies fall,

Before Your throne, they heed Your call.

Lord of Hosts, the humble friend,

On whom my weary soul depends.

Not just in power, but in grace,

You meet me in this sacred place.

Lord of Hosts, the coming King,

To whom all creation will sing.

I bow my heart, I bend my knee,

The Lord of Hosts is fighting for me.
