I Am Blessed
I am blessed. Not because of what I've earned,
Not because of lessons learned or bridges burned.
Not because I've been so good, or tried my best,
But simply and profoundly—I am blessed.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)
I am blessed with forgiveness—every sin erased,
Every failure covered, every shame-faced
Moment washed in mercy, buried in the deepest sea,
Never to be held against or brought to memory.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12)
I am blessed with a Father who will never turn away,
Who welcomes me each morning with new mercies for the day.
He calls me His beloved, His child, His own delight,
And holds me in His presence from morning until night.
I am blessed with a Savior who gave His life for me,
Who died my death, who set me free.
He rose again, He lives, He reigns,
And in His victory, I have gained
A future bright, a hope secure,
A love that will forever endure.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1)
I am blessed with a Helper, the Spirit deep within,
Who guides me, teaches me, and cleanses me from sin.
He prays when I have no words, He comforts when I grieve,
He fills me with His presence and helps me to believe.
I am blessed with family, with friends along the way,
With those who love and lift me when I cannot find the strength to pray.
I am blessed with daily bread, with shelter and with clothing,
With countless tiny mercies that leave my spirit floating.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights. (James 1:17)
I am blessed in the valleys, blessed upon the peak.
I am blessed when I am strong, and blessed when I am weak.
For blessing is not measured by the comfort that I feel,
But by the presence of my God, whose love is always real.
I am blessed with a future that nothing can destroy,
A hope that fills my present with an everlasting joy.
For I have a home in heaven, prepared by Christ above,
And I am daily walking in the assurance of His love.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:6)
So when I count my blessings, I cannot count them all.
They rise like morning stars, they answer when I call.
But the greatest of all blessings, the truest and the best,
Is simply this: I am His, and He is mine—
I am forever blessed.
Amen.
