Here is a poetic prayer and a collection of scriptures for the journey to the place where heaven touches earth.
---
Take Off Your Shoes
Bring me to Your holy ground,
Where selfish motives cease.
Where in Your presence I am found,
And wrapped in perfect peace.
Bring me to Your holy ground,
Where burning bushes blaze.
Not with a voice that shakes the mound,
But in a still, small haze.
Bring me to Your holy ground,
And strip my pride away.
Let truth and mercy here abound,
As I learn to kneel and pray.
Bring me to Your holy ground,
Though I am dust and clay.
For in Your light, my sins are found,
And mercy clears the way.
Bring me to Your holy ground,
Where heaven touches earth.
Let me know the sacred sound
That gave creation birth.
And when I stand on holy ground,
With trembling heart and bare,
I'll speak no careless word or sound—
Just breathe a humble prayer.
