Hold me close

Here is a tender poem and a collection of scriptures for the soul that longs to rest in the embrace of the Divine.

In the Shelter of Your Arms

When the world is loud and wild,

When I am weary, undefiled,

When my heart is torn and tossed,

When I feel alone and lost—

Hold me close.

When my tears fall in the night,

When I cannot find the light,

When my faith is worn and thin,

When the battle rages from within—

Hold me close.

Not at arm's length, not afar,

But where Your heart beats, where You are.

Close enough to feel Your breath,

Close enough to conquer death.

Let me hear Your whisper low,

"Peace, be still, for I am close."

Let me know I'm not alone,

That I am loved, that I am known.

Hold me close when I can't stand,

When I reach my trembling hand.

Draw me near, beneath Your wing,

And let my soul forever sing—

You hold me close.

Scripture for His Embracing Presence

Carried Close Like a Child:

"I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak." (Ezekiel 34:15-16)

Hidden in His Shelter:

"For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock." (Psalm 27:5)

Under His Wings:

"Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings." (Psalm 17:8)

The Everlasting Arms:

"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." (Deuteronomy 33:27)

A Comforting Presence:

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4)

Held by His Right Hand:

"Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory." (Psalm 73:23-24)

A Mother's Comfort:

"As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you." (Isaiah 66:13)

Come to Me:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

Nothing Can Snatch You Away:

"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand." (John 10:28)
