May Your Angels Protect Me

As I step into the unknown day,

As I walk this uncertain way,

The path ahead I cannot see,

May Your angels protect me.

You have promised in Your word,

This faithful,holy, sovereign Lord,

That around those who fear Your name,

A heavenly guard You will ordain.

"For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."(Psalm 91:11)

So I pray, by Your command,

Send Your host across the land.

Let them camp around my home,

Wherever I may choose to roam.

"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them."(Psalm 34:7)

On the road, where dangers hide,

Be my safety,be my guide.

In the night,when fears take flight,

Let their presence be my light.

In the battle, seen and unseen,

Where dark and spiritual forces preen,

Let Your mighty angels fight,

With heaven's power and heaven's light.

But most of all, Lord, let my heart,

In Your own promise,take its part.

The angels serve at Your decree,

They ultimately come from Thee.

So whether by a host unseen,

Or by Your hand,serene,

I trust my safety to Your care,

Knowing You hear this whispered prayer.

May Your angels protect me,

As You have said they would.

But fix my trust on You alone,

My ultimate,eternal good.
