Blood of Christ, Set us Captives Free.

This is the heart of the Gospel—the powerful, liberating, and beautiful truth that the blood of Jesus Christ is the ransom price that purchased our freedom from sin, death, and condemnation.

Here is a declaration of that glorious freedom.

The Blood That Sets Us Free

We were in bondage, chained and bound,

To sin’s dark rule, with no safe ground.

A debt we owed we could not pay,

And in the shadows,we would stay.

But in the darkness, hope was shed,

When Christ, our Savior, bled and bled.

Not the blood of goats,a temporary sign,

But blood that was both human and divine.

The blood of Christ sets us free.

It is the price that breaks the chain,

That washes out the guilty stain.

It cancels every legal right,

That hell could hold against us in the night.

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”(Ephesians 1:7)

It sets us free from sin’s cruel power,

In our most vulnerable hour.

No longer slaves,we’re children now,

Before His throne,we humbly bow.

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.”(Romans 6:22)

It sets us free from fear and shame,

As He Himself bears all the blame.

We stand forgiven,clean, and new,

Because His promises are true.

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”(Romans 8:1)

The blood that flowed from Calvary’s tree,

Is the river that has set us free.

It is our plea, our only plea,

For all eternity.

The blood of Christ has set us free.

We are ransomed.

We are redeemed.

We are released.

We are His.

What This Freedom Means:

The freedom purchased by Christ's blood is multifaceted and complete:

1. Freedom from the Penalty of Sin (Justification): We are declared "not guilty" before God. The death sentence for our sin has been commuted because Jesus took the penalty upon Himself.

2. Freedom from the Power of Sin (Sanctification): The enslaving power of sin in our daily lives is broken. We are no longer forced to obey its desires; we now have the power through the Holy Spirit to say "no" and to live righteously.

3. Freedom from the Fear of Death: Because sin’s penalty is paid, the "sting" of death is removed. Death is no longer a door to judgment, but a passage into eternal life with God (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).

4. Freedom to Approach God: We can now "come boldly to the throne of our gracious God" (Hebrews 4:16). The veil that separated us from God’s presence was torn by His death, giving us direct access.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving for This Freedom:

"Lord Jesus, thank you. Thank you for the priceless gift of Your blood shed for me. I receive the freedom it purchased.

I declare that I am free from the penalty and power of sin. I am free from condemnation. I am free from the fear of death. I am free to live as Your child, to know You, and to walk in the purpose for which You created me.

I will never cease to praise You for this incredible gift. My life is Yours.

In Your mighty name, Amen."
