This is a profound and powerful truth from Scripture that speaks to the very heart of the Gospel and the new creation that Christ has brought into being.
Here is a reflection on 1 Corinthians 15:45.

The Last Adam, a Life-Giving Spirit
The first man, Adam, from the dust was made,
A living soul,by God's own breath arrayed.
But from that soul,a fracture ran,
And death's dark shadow touched the plan.
For in that garden, choice was made,
And all of us in sin were laid.
From Adam's line,we all receive
The curse of death, and sin, and grieve.
"For as in Adam all die..."(1 Corinthians 15:22)
But hark! The promise, pure and true,
Of One who would all things make new.
Not just a man to try again,
But God Himself,for sinful men.
Jesus, the Last Adam, came,
To bear the weight of all our shame.
He lived the life the first man failed,
As sin and death He bravely assailed.
Upon the cross, He took our place,
The perfect sacrifice of grace.
And when He rose up from the grave,
A new creation He did save.
"So it is written: 'The first man Adam became a living being'; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.'" (1 Corinthians 15:45)
The "living being" could only give
The life he had, that we might live
In our own failing,mortal strength,
A temporary life,of finite length.
But Christ, the Life-Giving Spirit, now imparts,
His resurrection life to human hearts.
He breathes not just a soul's brief breath,
But conquers even physical death.
He is no longer bound by space or time,
His life and power are now sublime.
He dwells within us,as the Spirit,
So we,in Him, His life inherit.
The first Adam's legacy was sin and night,
The Last Adam's gift is life and light.

What This Means for Us:
This title, "the Last Adam," reveals Christ's role as the new head and source of a new humanity.
1. He is the "Last" Adam: He is the final, definitive head of humanity. No other Adam will come after Him. His work is complete and eternally sufficient.
2. He is a "Life-Giving Spirit": After His resurrection, Christ entered a new, glorified state of being. He is not merely a resuscitated corpse; He is a life-giving, spiritual force who can now indwell all believers through the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-20). He is the source of eternal, spiritual, and resurrection life.
3. Our New Identity: Just as we were "in Adam" by natural birth, inheriting a sinful nature and death, we are now "in Christ" by spiritual rebirth, inheriting His righteousness and eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:22). We are part of the new creation.
A Prayer to Receive His Life:
"Lord Jesus, You are the Last Adam, the Author of a new and eternal life. Thank you for ending the old cycle of sin and death that began with the first Adam.
I confess that I was born 'in Adam,' subject to sin and death. But today, I receive You as my Last Adam. I ask for the life that only You, as the Life-Giving Spirit, can impart.
Breathe Your resurrection life into my spirit. Live in me and through me. Make me a true part of Your new creation.
In Your mighty name, Amen."
