We are covered by the Blood of Christ

Amen. This is the bedrock of our faith, our hope, and our eternal security. To declare that "we are covered by the blood of Christ" is to proclaim the very means of our salvation and our standing before a holy God.

This is not a symbolic or superficial covering; it is a profound spiritual reality with eternal consequences.

What It Means to Be Covered by the Blood of Christ

In the Old Testament, the blood of sacrificial animals covered sin, temporarily setting it aside. But the blood of Jesus Christ, the perfect, spotless Lamb of God, does something far greater:

1. It Atoned for Our Sin: The blood of Jesus paid the full and final penalty for our sin. It was the ultimate sacrifice that satisfied the righteous wrath of God against sin.

   · "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace." - Ephesians 1:7

2. It Justifies Us: When God looks at those who are in Christ, He does not see our sin and shame. He sees the perfect righteousness of Christ applied to us. We are declared "not guilty" because Jesus took our guilt.

   · "Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!" - Romans 5:9

3. It Cleanses Us: The blood of Jesus doesn't just cover our sin; it washes it away, making us clean and pure before God.

   · "The blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." - 1 John 1:7

4. It Provides Protection: Just as the blood of the lamb on the doorposts in Egypt caused the destroyer to pass over the Israelites, the blood of Christ protects us from eternal death and the power of the enemy.

   · "By faith [Moses] kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel." - Hebrews 11:28

5. It Grants Access to God: Because of the blood, we can boldly approach the throne of grace. The veil that separated humanity from God's presence was torn in two by Christ's sacrifice.

   · "Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus..." - Hebrews 10:19

A Prayer of Thanksgiving for the Blood

Lord Jesus,

We come before You with humble and grateful hearts, acknowledging that there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. There is no other covering for our sin but Your precious blood.

Thank You for the cross.

Thank You for willingly shedding Your blood to pay a debt we could never pay.

We declare today that we are covered—our past is forgiven, our present is secure, and our future is hopeful because of what You have done.

When the accuser whispers our failures, we point to the blood.

When we feel unworthy, we remember we are justified by the blood.

When we feel dirty from the stains of the world, we trust in the cleansing power of the blood.

By faith, we hide ourselves in You. We are covered. We are safe. We are Yours.

In Your mighty and precious name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Walk in the confidence and peace that this truth provides today. You are secure in Him.
