Do Not Forfeit Your Blessings Upon My Life
I stand before You, humbled and aware,
Of every blessing,every answered prayer.
The grace I did not earn,the love I don’t deserve,
A reservoir of mercy,from which my soul draws nerve.
But I know my heart, its wanderings and its sway,
How easily I can be lured and turn away.
How pride can whisper,and how my will can stray,
And step from Your light into shadowed grey.
So with a trembling heart, I come and pray:
Do not let me forfeit the blessings upon my life.
Do not let my stubbornness build a wall,
That hinders Your purpose and halts Your call.
Do not let my disobedience or my fear,
Make the wells of Your blessing disappear.
When I am tempted to choose the lesser way,
To value the temporary and from Your truth stray,
Convict me, Lord.Pull me back to the path,
Shield me from choices that provoke Your wrath.
Guard me from a heart that grows cold and proud,
That moves from the shelter of Your covering cloud.
Let me never treat Your grace as a trivial thing,
Or forget the redemption my praises sing.
I ask not for wealth the world understands,
But for the spiritual blessings from Your hands.
The blessing of peace,the blessing of sight,
The blessing of walking in Your loving light.
Help me to partner with Your generous heart,
To obey Your Spirit,to play my part.
To steward the goodness You pour on my days,
And live a life that gives You praise.
Do not let me forfeit what Your love wants to give.
In Your mercy,help me to faithfully live.
Hold me close,and never let me go,
So Your blessings upon my life can fully flow.
