Please do not forget not forsake me.

This heartfelt cry echoes one of the most fundamental human fears and one of God's most profound promises. It is a prayer He hears and answers with absolute certainty.

This plea is found in the prayers of God's people throughout Scripture. King David prayed this very thing:

"Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish."

God's Unchanging Promise to You

Your feelings of being forgotten or forsaken are real and painful, but they are not the ultimate truth. God's character and His promises are your unshakable reality.

"...God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'"

"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands..."

A Prayer for When You Feel Forsaken

Heavenly Father,

In this moment of deep need, I cry out to You. The silence is loud, and the loneliness is heavy. My heart whispers, "Do not forget me. Do not forsake me."

I choose to hold onto Your promises over my feelings. Your Word says You will never leave me. Your Word says I am engraved on the palms of Your hands. I believe; help my unbelief.

· When I feel forgotten, remind me that You are thinking of me with thoughts of peace and hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

· When I feel forsaken, let me feel the comfort of Your presence, even if it is a quiet assurance and not a dramatic feeling.

· Anchor my soul in the truth of Your faithful character. You are not a man that You should lie. If You said "never," You mean never.

I place my trust not in my circumstances, but in You, the unchanging, faithful God.

In the name of Jesus, who cried "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" so that I would never have to be. Amen.

"Do Not Forget Me"

In the silence and the shadows long,

Where it feels like everything is wrong,

A whispered prayer,a desperate plea:

"My God,do not forget nor forsake me."

The world moves on, and friends may leave,

In this deep ache,I grieve and I grieve.

But in the stillness,a truth I'll claim,

A promise whispered in Your name.

You have not left, You are still here,

You hold my every pain and tear.

You see the struggle,You see the cost,

You see the very one that's lost.

So though I feel alone and small,

I'll trust the One who sees it all.

Be at peace, dear heart. You are held, you are seen, and you are deeply loved by the God who calls you His own. Cling to His promises; they are more real than any feeling.
