Bless us with clean hands, pure heart.

This is a powerful and essential prayer, reaching for the very heart of true worship and fellowship with God. It asks for both external righteousness ("clean hands") and internal purity ("pure heart").

This plea is rooted in King David's prayer after his sin and is a prerequisite for coming into God's presence:

"Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully."

- Psalm 24:3-4 (ESV)

A Prayer for Clean Hands and a Pure Heart

Heavenly Father,

We come before You, acknowledging that we cannot scrub our own hands clean or purify our own hearts. We need Your grace and the power of Your Holy Spirit.

We ask You to bless us with clean hands and a pure heart.

· For our hands: Forgive the works we have done that have harmed others and dishonored You. Cleanse us from the actions born of selfishness, greed, and anger. Set our hands to tasks that are good, righteous, and full of mercy.

· For our hearts: Forgive the hidden thoughts, the secret motives, and the inward idols we have cherished. Create in us a pure heart, O God. Wash us from our pride, our lust, our jealousy, and our deceit. Let our deepest desires be for You and Your kingdom.

Where we have been defiled by the world, sanctify us. Where we have been wounded, heal us. Make us vessels fit for Your use, that we may ascend into Your presence and receive blessing from You.

In the merciful name of Jesus, whose blood makes us clean, we pray. Amen.

A Poem: "Clean Hands, Pure Heart"

"Clean Hands, Pure Heart"

The dirt of deeds I cannot hide,

The stains spread deep and far and wide.

The heart's dark corners,thoughts unseen,

A landscape not so pure or clean.

I bring them now, this soiled pair,

This heart and hands,in need of care.

I cannot scrub them on my own,

My best attempts are but a moan.

So bless me, Lord, with hands made clean,

From every wrong and every mean.

And with a heart made pure and true,

That only beats, dear Lord, for You.

Let living water, from Your side,

Now in my deepest being,rise.

To wash the grime,to cleanse the stain,

And make me wholly new again.

So I may stand before Your face,

A vessel of Your love and grace.

With clean hands and a heart made pure,

In Your presence,safe and secure.

Bless us with this, we humbly ask,

For this,our daily, holy task.

To walk with hands and hearts made new,

In steadfast love,we follow You.

May you walk in the freedom and confidence that comes from being cleansed and made pure by God Himself. This is a gift He delights to give to those who seek Him.
