Seek first his righteousness, all will be added upon thee.

This is the master key to a life of peace, purpose, and divine provision—a direct command from Jesus Himself in the Sermon on the Mount. It is the ultimate cure for anxiety and the true path to a fulfilled life.

Here is a meditation on Matthew 6:33.

Seek First the Kingdom

The world shouts, "Strive! Grasp and hold!

Seek safety,treasure, wealth untold!"

It breeds a fear,a constant ache,

For all we need, and more, to take.

But You, O Christ, with voice so clear,

Dispel the worry,calm the fear.

You do not say,"Just do not care,"

But give a single,glorious dare:

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,

and all these things will be given to you as well."(Matthew 6:33)

Seek first the Kingdom. Make it your aim,

To honor His most holy name.

To align your will with the King's command,

And trust the rule of His great hand.

Seek first His righteousness. Not your own,

A gift of grace, through Christ alone.

To wear His purity,His grace,

And see the Father's smiling face.

This is the great and sacred trade,

The foundation on which our lives are made.

We give Him our frantic,self-driven quest,

And He takes on our worry and stress.

For when the Kingdom is our goal,

It re-orders and it makes us whole.

It sets our priorities in line,

And makes His mission, yours and mine.

And in that place of trust and praise,

He provides for all our coming days.

The"all these things"—the food, the dress,

The things that cause us such distress—

Will find their place, will be supplied,

As in our Father,we abide.

So let me seek You, Lord, today,

In all I do and all I say.

Let Your rule be my delight,

My source of strength,my shining light.

Seek first the Kingdom.

And all will be added.

This is His promise.

This is our peace.

What It Means to "Seek First the Kingdom":

This command is both a reorientation of our hearts and a practical guide for daily living.

1. Priority of Allegiance: It means making the advancement of God's rule and reign in this world (His Kingdom) the primary concern of our lives. His agenda becomes our agenda.

2. Dependence on His Righteousness: We stop trying to earn God's favor through our own good works and instead rely completely on the perfect righteousness of Christ credited to us by faith.

3. A Transfer of Trust: It is actively trusting that God is a good Father who knows our needs (Matthew 6:32) and can be relied upon to provide for us as we focus on serving Him.

4. What It Looks Like Practically: It means starting your day in prayer, asking "God, how can I represent Your rule in my workplace, my home, my relationships today?" It means making decisions based on His Word, not worldly wisdom. It means investing your time, talents, and treasure into eternal things.

A Prayer of Seeking:

"Heavenly Father, I confess that I often seek my own kingdom first—my comfort, my security, my reputation. Forgive me.

Today, I choose to seek Your Kingdom first. I surrender my agenda to Yours. I want Your will to be done in and through my life. I put on the righteousness of Jesus, for I have none of my own.

I trust Your promise. As I make Your Kingdom my primary pursuit, I believe You will provide everything I need. I release my anxiety and place my full trust in You, my faithful Provider.

In Jesus' name, Amen."
