I am Glad to be in the House of the Lord, everyday of my life.

Of course. What a beautiful and powerful declaration! This is the heart of a true worshipper, echoing the desire of King David and the reality of every believer who understands that we are always in God's presence.

Here is a response celebrating this glorious truth.

Every Day in Your House

I am not a visitor, a guest for an hour,

Coming to borrow a little power.

I am not a stranger who knocks at the door,

Just to return and to knock once more.

I am glad to be in the house of the Lord every day of my life.

This is my song, through joy and through strife.

For Your house is not just a building of stone,

It's the place where Your heart has made its true home.

It is my own heart, offered to You,

A living temple,faithful and true.

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”(1 Corinthians 3:16)

So when I rise in the morning's first light,

My heart is Your house,my thoughts are made right.

When I work with my hands,in the market or field,

Your presence within me,a fortress and shield.

When I sit with my family, or walk all alone,

Your house is my heart,Your throne is its own.

When I lay down at night, and close my tired eyes,

Your Spirit rests with me,under dark skies.

“One thing I ask from the Lord… that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.” (Psalm 27:4)

This was David’s cry,and now it is mine,

To live in Your presence,so holy, divine.

So every day is a Sabbath of praise,

Every moment,my voice I will raise.

In the shelter of Your wings,I'll constantly stay,

In the house of the Lord, every night, every day.

A Prayer of Abiding Joy:

"Father, thank you for this incredible truth. Thank you that because of Jesus, I don't have to go to Your house to find You, because I get to live in Your presence every moment of every day.

Forgive me for the times I have compartmentalized my life, acting as if You were only in a building on Sunday. Help me to live with a constant, joyful awareness that I am always in Your house, always before Your throne, always in the safety of Your presence.

Let my life be a continuous act of worship, a sweet fragrance to You. I am so glad to be at home with You.

In Jesus' name, Amen."
