Save Me God

This is the most fundamental and powerful cry of the human heart—the cry that heaven is always waiting to answer.

Here is a prayer and God's promise for you.

---

Save Me, God

I cry two words, raw and true,

There is no other place to go but You.

Save me, God.

Save me from the storm inside,

From the rising,turning tide.

Save me from the weight of shame,

From the calling of my name

By the darkness and the dread,

By the voices in my head.

Save me from my own mistakes,

From the mess my own heart makes.

Save me from the path I'm on,

From the hope that's almost gone.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted

and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)

I cannot save myself, I see,

I am trapped, and not yet free.

I need a Rescuer,a Mighty Hand,

To reach me in this sinking sand.

And You have promised. You have said,

You would raise me from the dead.

You would part the sea of sin,

And bring Your victory within.

"For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13)

So I am calling. Here is my voice.

In Your salvation,I rejoice.

Not because I feel it yet,

But because of the promise You have set.

You are the God who sees my pain,

You are the God who breaks the chain.

You are the God who died and rose,

The One who defeats my fiercest foes.

Save me, God.

Save me now.

Save me completely.

Save me forever.

In the mighty name of Jesus, the Savior,

Amen.

God's Answer to Your Cry:

When you cry "Save me, God," you are praying the very prayer He loves to answer. The name Jesus (Yeshua) literally means "The LORD saves."

His salvation is three-fold:

1. He Saves Us FROM: From the penalty of sin (Romans 6:23), from the power of sin (Romans 6:6-7), and one day, from the very presence of sin (Revelation 21:4).

2. He Saves Us FOR: For a relationship with Him (John 17:3), for a new life (2 Corinthians 5:17), and for good works that He prepared for us (Ephesians 2:10).

3. He Saves US BY: By His grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is not based on your worthiness, but on His finished work on the cross.

A Simple Prayer to Receive Salvation:

"God, I come to You now. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross for my sins, and that You raised Him from the dead.

I confess my need for a Savior. I cannot save myself. Right now, I turn from my sin and I put my full trust in Jesus Christ alone for my salvation.

Forgive me. Cleanse me. Save me. Come into my life and make me new. I receive Your gift of eternal life and I thank you for it.

From this day forward, I am Yours. In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you prayed that prayer and meant it, the Bible says you are saved (Romans 10:9). You have crossed from death into life (John 5:24). Your rescue has begun.
