We are not orphans, left to guess,

In paths of deep wilderness.

We are not slaves,to laws of stone,

To make our weary way alone.

A new name echoes from the Throne,

A truth to make our hearts His own:

Redeemed,and by His love, we're awed.

And as His children, we receive,

The very Guide who helps us believe.

To be led by the Spirit is a daily walk,

A surrender in which we learn to talk

And ask Him what He has in store.

He leads us not to places of ease,

But to a life that truly pleases.

He leads to joy,He leads to peace,

He leads where trusting will increase.

He leads us into truth and light,

And empowers us to stand and fight.

He leads us to the Father’s heart,

Where we are healed and set apart.

He leads us to the cross, again,

To die to sin and self,Amen.

And leads us out,in victory’s power,

To live for this,and every hour.

So, child of God, lift up your head,

You are not lost,you are being led.

By the Spirit of the King of Kings,

Through all of life’s twistings and turnings.

We are the children of God.

We are led by His Spirit.

What It Means to Be Spirit-Led:

Being a child of God led by the Spirit involves a dynamic relationship. It means:

1. A New Identity: Your primary identity is no longer "sinner" but "child of God." This relationship is the basis for the Spirit's guidance (Romans 8:15-16).

2. A Daily Dependence: It is a moment-by-moment reliance on the Holy Spirit for direction, conviction, comfort, and power. It's not a one-time event but a continuous walk (Galatians 5:25).

3. Alignment with God's Word: The Spirit will never lead you contrary to the principles and commands of Scripture. He uses the Word to guide and correct us (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

4. A Growing Likeness to Christ: The ultimate goal of the Spirit's leading is to conform you to the image of Jesus—to produce His character (the fruit of the Spirit) in you (Galatians 5:22-23, Romans 8:29).

5. Freedom and Life: Being Spirit-led is the opposite of being under the law. It is a life of freedom from sin's power and the experience of true, abundant life (Romans 8:2, John 10:10).

A Prayer to Be Led:

"Father, thank you that I am Your child. I am no longer an orphan, but I am known, loved, and adopted into Your family.

Holy Spirit, I invite You to lead me today. Quiet my own plans and agendas. Speak to my heart through Your Word. Nudge me when I should act and restrain me when I should wait. Lead me into truth, into love, and into the good works You have prepared for me.

Help me to recognize Your voice above all others. I surrender my will to Yours. Lead me, Spirit of God, for I am Your child.
