Please redeem me a sinner.

Amen. This is the most important prayer a human heart can utter. It is the cry that opens the door to grace, freedom, and reconciliation with God.

Here is a prayer in response, a cry for the cleansing only He can provide.

Please Forgive My Sin

Please forgive my sin, O Lord,

This heavy,haunting, bitter cord.

The wrong I chose,the good I failed,

The trust I broke, the love assailed.

It stands between my soul and You,

A dark and dread-filled,chilling view.

I cannot hide,I cannot plea,

For my own guilt condemns me.

But I come not with my own good name,

I come not seeking guilt or blame.

I come because I've heard it said,

You rose up from the silent dead.

I come because the prophet wrote,

Of a forgiveness that can float

The heaviest burden out to sea,

And set a guilty conscience free.

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”(Isaiah 1:18)

I come because Your Word is true:

“If we confess, He will forgive,"

And in Your mercy,I can live.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”(1 John 1:9)

So here it is, my hidden shame,

I speak it now,and speak Your name.

Jesus.The name that sinners dread,

The name that raises up the dead.

Upon His cross, my debt was paid,

The final sacrifice was made.

His blood, the cost I could not bear,

Washes me from my despair.

So, Father, see me through His grace,

Forgive me now,in this holy place.

Not for my worth, but for His worth,

My second birth,my true rebirth.

Please forgive my sin, I pray,

And take its power all away.

Create in me a heart that's clean,

A quiet mind,a spirit keen

To follow You,and You alone,

Upon the mercy You have shown.
