If God is for us, who can be against us.

To understand the immense power of this verse, we must ask: "What things?" The verse before it (Romans 8:30) talks about the unbreakable chain of God's redemption: those He predestined, He called; those He called, He justified; those He justified, He glorified.

· Will He not also graciously give us all things? (Yes!)

· Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? (No one! God justifies.)

· Who is he that condemns? (No one! Christ died and intercedes.)

· Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? (Nothing!)

So, "If God is for us..." is the climax of a argument about the absolute, unassailable security of the believer in Christ.

What Does It Mean?

This statement is not a naive claim that Christians won't have enemies or face opposition. In fact, it promises the opposite. It means that no opposition that comes against us can ultimately succeed because the Creator of the universe is on our side.

· "If God is for us...": This is the greatest possible assurance. The Greek implies a fulfilled condition: "Since God is for us..." It is a settled fact for those in Christ. God is not neutral or hostile; He is actively for our good, our growth, and our ultimate glory (Romans 8:28).

· "...who can be against us?": This does not mean "who would dare to oppose us?" but rather "who can successfully be against us?" People, circumstances, and spiritual forces will absolutely come against us. But none of them can prevail against the omnipotent God who champions our cause. Their opposition is ultimately futile.

If God is for us, who can be? The answer shouts triumphantly: No power of hell,no scheme of man, Can change the eternal,holy plan. We are more than conquerors,through Him who loved us so. And this the world will never know.

God gives us the grace to handle what is in front of us today. He does not typically give us the grace for hypothetical problems of tomorrow until they become the realities of today.

3. It Acknowledges Reality without Being Overcome by It: Jesus is a realist.He doesn't say, "Have faith and every day will be easy." He says, in effect, "Life in a broken world has real challenges. How to Apply This Truth

· Focus on Today's Grace: Ask, "What has God given me to do today? What resources has He provided for this day?" His mercies are "new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22-23).

· Plan, But Don't Worry: It is wise to plan for tomorrow (Proverbs 6:6-8), but it is a sin to worry about it. We make plans while holding them with an open hand, trusting a sovereign God.

Heavenly Father,
