Shine Your Face Upon My Path

My own sight fails, the way is dim,

A distant,hazy, uncertain rim.

I cannot see the step ahead,

By shadows and my fears I'm led.

But You, O Lord, are light and day,

You know the course,You know the way.

So I do not ask for a map to hold,

But for Your face,more precious than gold.

Shine Your face upon my path.

Let Your smile be my brightest sun,

Your favor,now my journey won.

Let Your gaze light up the ground,

Where purpose and your will are found.

“The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you.” (Numbers 6:25)

Where Your light falls, let me walk,

In confident steps,to hear You talk.

Dispel the shadows of doubt and fear,

Make Your direction crystal clear.

For in the light of Your countenance,

There is no room for happenstance.

Every stone,every turn, every cross, every grace,

Is illuminated by the sight of Your face.

So I will not rush ahead in the night,

I'll wait for the comfort of Your guiding light.

For one beam from You is enough to see,

The next step You have designed for me.
