Please give us rests, Lord.

Amen. "Please give us rest" is a prayer of surrender and trust—a cry from the weary heart to the One who promises to carry our burdens and give us peace. It is the honest confession that we cannot keep going on our own, and we need the rest that only God can give.

📖 The Scriptural Foundation

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

"Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." (Psalm 23:1-3)

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." (Isaiah 40:29)

"My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." (Exodus 33:14)

"The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace." (Psalm 29:11)

🕊️ What It Means to Receive Rest from God

God's Rest Is... Because... A Scripture to Hold

Soul Rest It goes beyond physical rest—it quiets your inner being. "He restores my soul." (Psalm 23:3)

Peace It is a calm assurance that He is in control. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you." (John 14:27)

Renewal It strengthens and refreshes you for the journey ahead. "They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength." (Isaiah 40:31)

Surrender It is releasing your burdens and trusting Him. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you." (Psalm 55:22)

His Presence It is resting in the knowledge that He is with you. "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." (Exodus 33:14)

🙏 A Prayer for Rest

Father,

I come to You weary and burdened.

I have tried to carry it all on my own—

The worries, the fears, the weight of the day.

And I am tired.

Please give us rest.

Quiet my restless mind.

Calm my anxious heart.

Still my weary soul.

Let me rest in Your presence.

I lay my burdens at Your feet.

I release my worries into Your hands.

I trust You with my tomorrows.

Let me lie down in green pastures.

Let me rest beside still waters.

Let You restore my soul.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

🕊️ A Declaration of Rest

I declare today:

I am receiving the rest of God.

I am not striving in my own strength.

I am not carrying burdens I was never meant to carry.

I rest in His love.

I rest in His peace.

I rest in His presence.

He is my shepherd.

He leads me.

He restores me.

He gives me rest.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." (Psalm 23:1)

💎 A Final Encouragement

Rest is not a luxury—it is a gift. It is not a sign of weakness—it is an act of trust. When you rest in God, you are declaring that He is in control, that He is faithful, and that He will carry what you cannot. He is the God who gives rest to the weary and strength to the weak. Come to Him. Lay down your burdens. And let His peace fill your soul.

"Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)

Please give us rest, Lord. We are Yours. 🙏🕊️💤
