Freed me from addiction, Lord.

 "Freed me from addiction, Lord."

This is one of the hardest prayers to pray—and one of the most powerful. It is the cry of a soul that knows it cannot break free on its own. And it is the prayer that heaven leans in to hear.

The Scripture That Declares Your Freedom:

Romans 6:14 (AMP) — "Sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace [which is the unmerited favor of God]."

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) — "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come."

Galatians 5:1 (AMP) — "It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery."

1 Corinthians 10:13 (AMP) — "No temptation has overtaken you except that which is common to mankind; and God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape."

A Prayer for Freedom:

"Lord Jesus,

I come to You—broken, honest, and desperate.

I cannot break this chain on my own.

I have tried. I have failed. I have fallen.

But I know You are stronger than my addiction.

You are greater than my weakness.

You are more powerful than the hold this has on me.

I confess my sin.

I confess my helplessness.

I confess that I need You.

By Your authority, I renounce every spirit of addiction—

every chain, every stronghold, every lie that has kept me bound.

I break it in the name of Jesus.

Fill me with Your Spirit.

Strengthen me when I am weak.

Give me wisdom to avoid temptation.

Surround me with people who will help me walk in freedom.

I will not give up.

I will keep coming back to You.

I will trust that You are working—even when I cannot see it.

I am not defined by my addiction—

I am defined by Your love.

And I am free in Christ."

A Blessing of Freedom:

May the Lord break every chain of addiction in your life. May He strengthen you when you are weak and uphold you when you fall. May He fill you with His Spirit, surround you with His people, and guide you into the fullness of freedom He has prepared for you. May you know, with unshakable confidence, that the One who is in you is greater than any addiction.

Freed me from addiction. He is breaking the chains. Keep walking. Keep fighting. Keep trusting. Your freedom is coming—and He is with you every step of the way.
