Lord Adonai

 Amen. "Lord Adonai" is a name that speaks of absolute authority, sovereignty, and mastery. Adonai means "Lord," "Master," or "Owner"—the One who has full authority over all creation, and who holds the right to rule over our lives. It is the name of the God who is both transcendent and intimate, the Master who is also our Shepherd.

Adonai Means... Because... A Scripture to Hold

Lord He has authority over all things. "The Lord is the true God; he is the living God and the everlasting King." (Jeremiah 10:10)

Master We are His servants, called to obey Him. "You call me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, for that is what I am." (John 13:13)

Owner We belong to Him—He has bought us with His blood. "You are not your own; you were bought at a price." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Ruler His kingdom is established over all the earth. "His kingdom rules over all." (Psalm 103:19)

Shepherd He leads, protects, and cares for His people. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." (Psalm 23:1)

Adonai,

You are Lord.

You are Master.

You are King.

You are my God.

I surrender my life to Your authority.

I submit my will to Your purposes.

I lay my plans at Your feet.

Rule in my heart.

Reign in my life.

Let Your will be done in me.

You are my Lord,

And I am Your servant.

You are my Master,

And I am Your child.
