Amen. This is the most important prayer a person can ever utter—a plea for eternal security and belonging in the family of God. It reaches beyond the temporary things of this world to the eternal record kept in heaven.
Here is a prayerful poem for this deepest of desires.

May Our Name Be In the Book of Life
Not in the annals of the rich and famed,
Not in the scrolls of worldly power named.
But in one ledger, written by Your hand,
In the eternal,holy, promised land.
May our name be in the Book of Life.
Let it be inscribed not by our own deed,
Or by the hollow words of a dusty creed.
But by the blood of the Lamb, the sacrifice,
That paid for us the ultimate, final price.
Wash over our names with Your crimson flood,
That springs from the cross, the gift of God.
Let the ink that marks us be Your grace alone,
Securing our place before Your throne.
When the world is shaken, and kingdoms fall,
When You,the Judge, are all in all,
When the books are opened for one and all,
Let our names answer Your holy call.
Let no sin, no shame, no forgotten plea,
Erase what Your love has written for me.
Hold that book secure, within Your care,
A testament to Your love, beyond compare.
This is our hope, our only plea,
Not our worth,but Calvary.
So we ask in the name of Jesus Christ,
May our name be in the Book of Life.
"However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
— Luke 10:20
"...I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels."
— Revelation 3:5
