Protect me from Sinnings.

 Amen. "Protect me from sinning."

This is one of the most honest, humble, and powerful prayers a child of God can pray. It is the cry of a heart that loves God and desperately wants to honor Him, but also knows its own weakness. It is the prayer of someone who realizes that we cannot keep ourselves from sin through our own willpower alone—we need the supernatural protection and keeping power of God.

"Keep me from the paths of the wicked, and let me not walk in the way of evildoers." — Psalm 141:4 (paraphrased focus)

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy..." — Jude 1:24 (AMP)

The Scripture That Promises Protection from Sin:

Psalm 19:13 (AMP) — "Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule and have control over me. Then I will be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression."

1 Corinthians 10:13 (AMP) — "No temptation has overtaken you except that which is common to mankind; and God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, so that you may be able to endure it."

Psalm 119:11 (AMP) — "Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart, that I may not sin against You."

Galatians 5:16 (AMP) — "But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh."

2 Thessalonians 3:3 (AMP) — "But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you [setting you on a firm foundation] and will protect and guard you from the evil one."

What It Means to Ask for Protection from Sin:

· It is an admission of weakness. You are acknowledging that you cannot stand on your own. You are saying, "Lord, I need You to be my defense."

· It is a prayer for a way of escape. God promises that with every temptation, He will provide a way out. You are asking Him to make that exit door clear and to give you the strength to run through it.

· It is a prayer for a guarded heart. Sin starts in the heart. You are asking God to guard your affections, your thoughts, and your desires.

· It is a prayer for the Holy Spirit's control. The only way to not fulfill the desires of the flesh is to walk in the Spirit. You are asking Him to take the lead.

A Prayer for Protection from Sin:

"Father,

I ask You to protect me from sinning.

I do not want to grieve Your Holy Spirit.

I do not want to break Your heart.

I do not want to trade Your perfect peace for the fleeting pleasures of sin.

I want to live a life that is holy and pleasing to You.

But I know my own weakness.

I know my own flesh.

I know how easily I can be distracted and deceived.

So I am asking You to be my Shield.

I am asking You to be my Keeper.

Keep me back from presumptuous sins.

Let them not have dominion over me.

Guard my eyes from looking at worthless things.

Guard my ears from listening to gossip and lies.

Guard my mouth from speaking words that tear down.

Guard my heart from harboring bitterness and unforgiveness.

Guard my mind from entertaining thoughts that dishonor You.

When temptation comes, Lord, give me the eyes to see the way of escape.

Give me the strength to take it.

Give me the courage to say 'no' to my flesh and 'yes' to Your Spirit.

Do not let me be drawn away by my own desires.

Hide Your Word in my heart so that I will not sin against You.

Fill me with Your Spirit so that I will not carry out the desires of the flesh.

Surround me with Your grace so that I can stand firm.

Keep me from stumbling, Lord.

Present me faultless before Your glory with exceeding joy.

Protect me from sinning.

I trust You to keep me.

In Jesus' name,

Amen."

A Blessing of Protection:

May the Lord be your Shield and your Keeper. May He guard your heart, your mind, and your steps. May He keep you from the paths of the wicked and protect you from the snares of the enemy. May He always give you the way of escape when temptation comes, and may He give you the strength to take it. And may you know—deep in your soul—that the One who lives in you is greater than the temptation that comes against you, and He is well able to keep you from falling.

"Protect me from sinning."

He hears you.

He is guarding you.

He will keep you.

Amen.
