Lord, forgive me.

 Amen. "Lord, forgive me."

These are three of the most powerful words you can ever speak. They are the words that open the door to grace, that cleanse the soul, and that restore the broken relationship with your Heavenly Father. You are not coming to a God who is reluctant to forgive. You are coming to a Father who is waiting with open arms, ready to run to you, embrace you, and wash you clean.

"If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness." — 1 John 1:9 (AMP)

The Scripture That Promises Forgiveness:

Psalm 86:5 (AMP) — "For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our sins, sending them away, completely letting them go forever and ever]; And abundant in lovingkindness and overflowing in mercy to all those who call upon You."

Isaiah 1:18 (AMP) — "'Come now, and let us reason together,' says the Lord. 'Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.'"

Micah 7:18-19 (AMP) — "Who is a God like You, who forgives wickedness and passes over the rebellious acts... He does not retain His anger forever, because He [constantly] delights in mercy and lovingkindness. He shall again have compassion on us; He will subdue and tread underfoot our wickedness. Yes, You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea."

Psalm 103:12 (AMP) — "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."

Ephesians 1:7 (AMP) — "In Him we have redemption [that is, our deliverance and salvation] through His blood, [which paid the penalty for our sin and resulted in] the forgiveness and complete pardon of our sin, in accordance with the riches of His grace."

What It Means to Ask for Forgiveness:

· It is an act of humility. You are agreeing with God that what you did was wrong. You are dropping your defenses and your excuses.

· It is an act of faith. You are believing that His blood is enough—that Jesus already paid the price for that sin on the cross.

· It is an act of restoration. Forgiveness doesn't just wipe the slate clean; it restores your fellowship with the Father. It brings you back into right relationship with Him.

· It is a gift. You cannot earn it. You cannot buy it. You can only receive it with a grateful heart.

A Prayer of Confession:

"Father,

Lord, forgive me.

I come to You with a humble heart.

I do not hide my sin from You.

I do not excuse it.

I do not minimize it.

I bring it into the light of Your grace.

Forgive me for the things I have done that dishonor You.

Forgive me for the words I have spoken that hurt others.

Forgive me for the thoughts I have entertained that grieve Your Spirit.

Forgive me for the good I have left undone.

Forgive me for my pride, my selfishness, and my unbelief.

I confess my sin before You.

And I receive Your forgiveness.

Thank You for Your faithfulness.

Thank You for Your justice.

Thank You for the blood of Jesus that washes me clean.

Thank You that You do not hold my sins against me.

Thank You that You cast my sins into the depths of the sea.

Thank You that You remove them as far as the east is from the west.

I am forgiven.

I am cleansed.

I am restored.

I am Yours.

In Jesus' name,

Amen."

A Blessing of Forgiveness:

May you know—deep in your soul—that your sins are forgiven. Not because you are perfect, but because He is faithful. May the weight of guilt be lifted from your shoulders. May the blood of Jesus cleanse your conscience. May you walk in the freedom that comes from knowing you are fully and eternally forgiven. And may you never doubt that you are loved—not because you are worthy, but because He is gracious.

"Lord, forgive me."

He has heard you.

He has forgiven you.

He has cleansed you.

You are forgiven.

Walk in that freedom today.

Amen.
