You Give Hope
A Reflection on Romans 15:13, Psalm 42:5, and Hebrews 6:19
You give hope—when the world offers despair,
When the night is long and no one seems to care.
You are the anchor for my soul, the light in the dark,
The One who ignites the smallest spark.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)
Hope—not a wish upon a star,
But a confidence that You are who You are.
You are faithful, You are true,
You make all things new.
Hope—when the future seems unclear,
When the path is steep and the way is drear.
You are the Shepherd who leads me through,
The One who makes my spirit new.
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God. (Psalm 42:5)
You give hope—through every trial and test,
You give me strength to face the rest.
Not because life is easy or fair,
But because I know that You are there.
You give hope—for today, for tomorrow,
For the joy that follows sorrow.
You are the God who brings life from death,
Who gives strength with every breath.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. (Hebrews 6:19)
You give hope—not in things that fade,
But in the promises that You have made.
Eternal, unchanging, steadfast, and sure,
The hope in You will endure.
So I thank You, Lord, for this gift so true,
Hope that is found only in You.
In the valley, on the peak,
You are the hope that I seek.
Amen.
