Your Mercy renewed every morning.

Your Mercies Are Renewed Every Morning

A Reflection on Lamentations 3:22-23

Your mercies are renewed every morning—not just once at dawn,

But with every breath, every heartbeat, every hope reborn.

Before the sun paints the horizon, before the first bird sings,

Your compassion spreads its healing, ever‑fresh, eternal wings.

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

The night may have been long—filled with tears and restless fears.

The weight of yesterday may linger, staining all these early years.

But the dawn breaks with a promise: the slate is wiped away.

Your mercy stands before me, welcoming a brand new day.

Not a memory of my failures, not a ledger of my shame,

Not a record of the moments I disgraced Your holy name.

But a fresh page, a clean start, a breath of hope anew—

Your mercies never run dry; they are forever, always true.

Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. (Psalm 143:8)

Every sunrise testifies—not just to nature's power,

But to the tender faithfulness that meets me hour by hour.

The God who never slumbers, who watches through the night,

Already has prepared my mercies, wrapped in morning light.

Your mercy is not a reward for my goodness,

But a gift of Your grace, a reflection of Your fatherhood.

It does not depend on my performance or my worth,

But flows from the heart of the One who gave me birth.

So I will not drag yesterday's guilt into today's fresh grace.

I will not let the past condemn me or steal my peace of face.

For Your compassions never fail—they are new, they are mine, they are free.

Great is Your faithfulness, O Lord. Your mercies welcome me.

Amen.
