Goodness to the Lord.

 Goodness to the Lord

A Reflection on Psalm 107:1, Psalm 100:5, and James 1:17

Goodness to the Lord—not just a word we speak,

But a life of praise, a heart that's meek.

We give Him goodness, not because He needs,

But because His goodness plants the seeds.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. (Psalm 107:1)

Goodness—not a payment for His grace,

But a grateful echo of His holy face.

We offer Him our love, our praise, our all,

And on His goodness, we stand tall.

His goodness is the sun that rises every day,

The rain that falls, the light that guides our way.

It is the mercy that meets us at our worst,

The grace that quenches our deepest thirst.

For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100:5)

Goodness to the Lord—in the morning and the night,

In the darkness and the light.

When we are weak, He gives us strength,

When we have failed, He goes to any length

To restore, to heal, to make us whole,

And to fill our lives with His holy soul.

We give Him goodness—not with empty hands,

But with hearts that follow His commands.

We give Him our worship, our time, our care,

We give Him our burdens, our joy, our prayer.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights. (James 1:17)

Goodness to the Lord—this is our song,

Our declaration, our whole life long.

For He is good, and His love never ends,

He is our Shepherd, our Father, our Friend.

So we pour out our goodness—not as a debt,

But as a response to the love we have met.

We lift our voices, we raise our hands,

We give Him goodness throughout all the lands.

Goodness to the Lord—now and forevermore.

From the rising of the sun to the closing of the door.

Goodness to the Lord—this is our plea,

Our prayer, our life, our eternity.

Amen.
