You Give Life
A Reflection on John 10:10, John 14:6, and Romans 8:2
You give life—not just breath, not just a pulse,
But life abundant, life that overflows and overwhelms.
Life that begins the moment we believe,
And stretches on through all eternity.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
You give life—not just existence, but purpose,
Not just survival, but strength to endure this.
Life that conquers death, life that overcomes,
Life that sings when the darkness comes.
You give life—to the weary and worn,
To the broken and battered, to those who mourn.
You breathe hope into dry bones,
You turn our groans into holy tones.
“I am the way and the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)
You give life—through the Spirit who dwells within,
Who breaks the chains of sin and sets us free from sin.
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
Has set me free from the law of sin and death that once seized us.
You give life—not just for today,
But for all eternity, in every way.
You are the resurrection, You are the life,
The calm in the storm, the peace in the strife.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)
You give life—in the morning when I wake,
In the evening when I rest, for Your love's sake.
You give life to my spirit, my soul, and my frame,
And I will praise You forever, in Jesus' name.
You give life. Thank You, Lord.
Life that is rich, life that is full,
Life that is anchored in Your love, unbreakable.
Amen.
