A Reflection on Lamentations 3:22-23

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Great is Thy faithfulness—not a fleeting, fragile vow,

But the unshakable, unchanging truth that holds me here and now.

Through every season, every trial, every shadow, every light,

Your faithfulness endures—a never-failing, burning bright.

Great is Thy faithfulness—when I stumble and fall,

When I wander far from home and cannot hear Your call.

You are the anchor in the storm, the calm in every strife,

The steady hand that holds me tight and gives me endless life.

Morning by morning, new mercies I see—

Not a dusty relic of yesterday's grace,

But a fresh, living river that meets me face to face.

The sins of the past are washed away, the guilt is gone,

And I rise to greet the dawn with a brand new song.

Great is Your faithfulness, O God my Father; there is no shadow of turning with Thee. Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; as Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness—to Abraham, to Moses, to me,

Through every generation, for all eternity.

In the wilderness, You provided; in the furnace, You were there.

On the cross, You purchased freedom; from the grave, You rose to cheer.

So I will sing of Your great faithfulness—not because I've earned,

But because Your lovingkindness is a lesson I have learned.

Great is Thy faithfulness—my soul, repeat the strain.

Your mercies are new every morning, and Your faithfulness will reign.

Great is Thy faithfulness.

Great is Thy faithfulness.

Morning by morning, new mercies I see.

All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided.

Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.
