Your Mercy endures forever.

 Your Mercy Endures Forever

A Reflection on Psalm 136:1-3, Lamentations 3:22-23, and Psalm 23:6

Your mercy endures forever—not a season, not a day,

But through every generation, along every winding way.

When morning paints the heavens and evening claims the west,

Your mercy is the pillow where my soul finds rest.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever. (Psalm 136:1)

Mercy—not getting what I deserve,

A pardon I could never serve.

It is the second chance, the fresh start, the healing balm,

The quiet whisper, "You are forgiven; be calm."

It endures—through every failure, every rebellious night,

Through the silence of my doubt, through the chaos of my fight.

The enemy may whisper, "You have gone too far this time,"

But mercy answers, "Child, I have already paid for every crime."

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Your mercy is not a reward for my goodness,

But a gift of Your grace, a reflection of Your fatherhood.

It does not depend on my performance or my worth,

But flows from the heart of the One who gave me birth.

It endures—through every valley, through every peak,

Through the silence and the suffering, through the victory and the weak.

When I am faithless, You remain,

For Your mercy will not be chained.

Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life. (Psalm 23:6)

So I will not fear tomorrow, for Your mercy goes before.

Your compassion is my rear guard; I am safe forevermore.

Your mercy endures forever—this I know.

Let the hallelujahs rise, let my grateful spirit grow.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.

His love endures forever.

Amen.
