We belongs to you, Lord.

 We Belong to You

A Reflection on 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, John 10:27-29, and Romans 14:8

We belong to You—not by our own striving or our worth,

But by the blood of Jesus, the second birth.

We were bought with a price, a price we could not pay,

And now we are Yours, Lord, forever and a day.

You are not your own; you were bought at a price. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

We belong to You—not as slaves who cower in fear,

But as beloved children, held close and dear.

We are the sheep of Your pasture, the flock of Your hand,

We are the branches that in the Vine firmly stand.

We belong to You—in the valley and the peak,

In the silence and the suffering, in the victory and the weak.

When the world tries to claim us, when the enemy lies,

We declare with confidence: we are Yours, our eyes

Are fixed on You, our Shepherd, our King, our Friend.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand. (John 10:27-28)

We belong to You—not just for a season, not just for a day,

But for all eternity, for the rest of our way.

You have called us by name, You have marked us as Your own,

And we will never, ever walk alone.

So we rest in the assurance that we are Yours, Lord.

Not because we are perfect, but because You keep Your word.

We are Your people, Your children, Your inheritance, Your joy.

We belong to You—and nothing can destroy.

If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. (Romans 14:8)

We belong to You, Lord. Today, tomorrow, always.

We are Yours, and You are ours, through all our days.

We belong to You—this is our song,

Our prayer, our life, our whole life long.

Amen.
