Bless me with discernment.

Amen. This is the prayer that keeps us from being deceived and leads us into the heart of God. Discernment is not just about spotting evil—it is about seeing clearly, hearing accurately, and choosing wisely.

"So give Your servant an understanding mind and a hearing heart [with which to judge] Your people, so that I may discern between good and evil." — 1 Kings 3:9 (AMP)

The Scripture That Promises Discernment:

Philippians 1:9-10 (AMP) — "I pray that your love may abound more and more [displaying itself in greater depth] in real knowledge and in practical insight, so that you may learn to recognize and treasure what is excellent [identifying the best, and distinguishing moral differences]."

Hebrews 5:14 (AMP) — "Solid food is for the mature, for those whose senses and spiritual perception are trained by practice to distinguish and discern between good and evil."

1 Corinthians 2:14 (AMP) — "The natural [unbelieving] person does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God... because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated."

John 16:13 (AMP) — "When He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]."

A Prayer for Discernment:

"Lord,

I ask You to bless me with discernment—

the ability to see what others miss,

to hear what the Spirit is saying,

to know what is from You and what is not.

Give me discernment in my decisions—

to choose wisdom over impulse.

Discernment in my relationships—

to recognize what is healthy and what is harmful.

Discernment in my heart—

to distinguish conviction from condemnation,

grace from license,

truth from deception.

Train my senses by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

Let me not be naive or easily misled.

Let me not be swayed by appearances or popular opinion.

Above all, give me the discernment to recognize Your voice,

for Your sheep know Your voice and follow You.

In Jesus' name,

Amen."
