Through Jesus Christ Our Lord

The gift of God is eternal life—

Not a wage for work, not a prize for strife,

Not a reward for the good we've done,

But a free gift given through God's own Son.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

Eternal life—not just endless days,

Not just a future of golden rays,

But knowing the Father, the only true God,

And Jesus Christ, whom the Father has sent abroad.

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:3)

It is a gift—you cannot earn it,

You cannot buy it, you cannot learn it

By study or striving or religious deed.

It comes by grace to the soul in need.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Through Jesus Christ—the only way,

The truth, the life, the living ray

That pierces the darkness of sin and shame,

And calls each sinner by their name.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

So receive the gift—it is offered free.

Open your heart, bend your knee.

Confess with your mouth, believe in your heart,

And let the eternal life in you start.

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Not a wage, but a gift.

Not a debt, but grace.

Not a temporary pardon, but an eternal embrace.

Thank You, Father, for the gift.

Thank You, Jesus, for the sacrifice.

Thank You, Spirit, for drawing us near.

Eternal life begins right here.
