Jesus forgive me.

 Jesus, Forgive Me

Jesus, forgive me—these words I bring,

Not as a ritual, not as a thing

To earn Your favor or soothe my pride,

But as a broken child who longs to hide

In the shelter of Your wounded side.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

I have wandered, I have strayed—

In thought and word, in deeds displayed.

I have loved what fades and clung to dust,

I have broken promises, betrayed my trust.

But You, O Lord, are rich in grace,

And mercy shines from Your holy face.

Jesus, forgive me—not for my worth,

But for the love that sent You to earth.

You took my sin upon the tree,

You bore the wrath that was meant for me.

And now You stand with open arms,

Disarming guilt with all its harms.

Come now, let us settle the matter, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. (Isaiah 1:18)

So I receive Your pardon now,

I lift to You my humble vow.

No more to hide, no more to run—

Your forgiveness has overcome.

Jesus, forgive me—and make me whole,

Restore the joy within my soul.

Amen.
